Download as a web app
It's Birds Mate installs straight to your home screen — no App Store queue, no download wait. It opens full-screen like a normal app, loads instantly, and keeps you logged in.
Why a web app — and why that's a good thing
- No 30% app-store tax. Apple and Google take up to 30% of everything sold through their stores. Running on the web keeps that money in the app — building it, running it, and funding the mission behind it — instead of a trillion-dollar toll booth.
- Updates the instant we ship them. New birds, fixes and seasonal events go live immediately — no app-review queue, no “update available” nag.
- One app, every device. iPhone, Android, laptop — same collection, one login, nothing to keep in sync.
- Nothing to download, no gatekeeper. It's the website, living on your home screen — lighter and faster than a native install, and we don't need anyone's permission to ship it.
Why add it to your home screen?
- One tap from your home screen — no fishing for a browser tab.
- Full-screen, no address bar — it feels like a real app.
- Faster — it caches, so it loads instantly even on a flaky signal in the field.
- Camera-ready — log a sighting the second you spot something.
- Free — it's the same site, just living on your home screen.

📱 Native apps are coming
We're building proper iPhone and Android apps for the App Store and Google Play. They're on the way — but they're not a reason to wait. The web app is the full thing, today, and your account carries straight over the moment they land.
Whichever device you're on, your collection follows your account — log in and your birds are right there.
